Accounting Clerk – Construction

Position: Accounting Clerk – Construction
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee

MBI is seeking a motivated and experienced Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for performing accounting and administrative duties in the field of construction utilizing your accounts receivable and accounts payable skills.

• Set up construction projects in Sage 100 accounting system.
• Support billing and invoice processing
• Support vendor payables processing
• Assist with proposal writing and internal agreements.
• Assist with document control.
• Perform a variety of administrative tasks including assistance with lien releases and credit card receipts/coding.
• Maintain subcontractor documents; COI, W-9, business licenses, contractor licenses.
• Assist with monthly statements, W-9, and COI assistance to construction clients.

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in accounting in either accounts receivable or accounts payable roles. Experience with both accounts receivable and accounts payable is preferred.
• Candidate must have 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry and familiarity with pay applications and construction terminology.
• Experience with Sage 100 construction accounting software is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Highly detail oriented.
