Summary of Position

Operates Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer system, including creating, updating and modifying engineering drawings, and Microsoft Office products.

Organizational Relationships

Reports to: Principal Engineer, however, may receive direction from Senior Sign        Designer and other CAD Technicians.

Directs: Works closely with building regulating agencies, sign companies, and sign installers.

Essential Duties (This job description does not take into account potential reasonable accommodation)

Creates CAD drawings for sign engineering projects.

Copies project drawings.

Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of AutoCAD and manual drafting principles, practices, methods and techniques, Microsoft Office Suite

Skill/Ability to demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; read and interpret construction drawings; operate computer using standard drafting software packages, plotters; develop CAD and manual drawings for engineering projects; maintain complete, readily accessible files and records of survey office reports; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and outside sign vendors.

Acceptable Experience & Training

Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field. No certificates or licenses required.
