Mid-Level Electrical Engineer

Position: Mid-Level Electrical Engineer
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee

MBI is seeking a highly motivated and energetic mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team.  In this role, you will leverage your talent and experience to bring unique solutions to projects for our diverse client base.  A successful candidate will perform a variety of work in the initial planning and design phase of equipment, systems, facilities, infrastructure, or processes.

• Provide design support on facility and infrastructure design projects under general supervision from more senior staff.
• Effectively lead electrical design efforts on small to moderate projects.
• Study design criteria, codes, and standards and incorporate required design practices into production of design deliverables.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for facilities and infrastructure projects based on scope of project, design criteria and applicable codes and standards.
• Assist with gathering field data to support development of design deliverables.
• Review and observe construction on projects to verify compliance with design deliverables (e.g., RFI responses).
• Perform checking of project submittals (i.e., shop drawings).
• Coordinate with other designers and technicians to complete assignments.

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university required.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in electrical engineering required.
• Experience with creating construction specifications, 3D BIM modeling and drafting tools preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail.
