Project Information

Red Bank Middle School

Red Bank Middle School was originally housed in an 80-year old facility designed for a high school. The Hamilton County Department of Education chose to replace the old building with a new 158,000 square foot middle school on a new site adjacent to the existing high school. With the middle school adjacent to the high school, additional recreation fields and parking could be shared by both facilities and programs, as well as the community. The new $30,000,000 middle school was designed for energy efficiency and sustainability to save operational and maintenance costs. Some of the sustainable features include geothermal heating and cooling, a reflective roof, sun shading, daylight and room occupancy sensors, and clerestories for both the public areas and classrooms.
