Monroe County Justice Center

The MBI/TreanorHL team was selected by the Monroe County Government to provide updated inmate profiles, determination of bed needs by inmate categories, programming and master plan options for the Monroe County Justice Center. The findings of the pre-design effort concluded that combining the detention needs and court functions on one site supported the vision and operation needs and objectives of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Criminal Court System of Monroe County.  The Monroe County Justice Center is programmed, and master planned to utilize a 20-year growth horizon.

The Monroe County Justice Center court functions include public lobby, (1) Session Court, (1) Criminal Court and (1) Circuit Court, district attorney, public defender and court clerk. The Monroe County Justice Center detention functions include 88 dormitory beds, 277 indirect supervision beds, medical clinic, food service, laundry, warehouse, inmate programs and staff support. The sheriff’s operations are part of the Monroe Justice Center and include, sheriff administration, detectives, patrol and evidence lab. Public visitation is achieved by way of video visitation and located adjacent to the public lobby.

“The staff has been very knowledgeable in helping direct us in the most important areas of the Justice Center and has went above and beyond helping us get the most for the money such as no wasted space inside the facility.”
