Red Bank Middle School replaced an 80-year-old building originally designed as a high school. Behind Red Bank High School., the 166,000 SF facility allows the middle school, high school, and community to share athletic fields, parking, and recreational spaces.
Designed for energy efficiency, the $30 million school offers long-term operational savings. Sustainable features include geothermal heating and cooling, a reflective roof, sun shading, daylight and occupancy sensors. Classrooms and public areas have clerestory windows.
The new campus provides upgraded athletic fields. Moreover, it offers a brighter learning environment. The cafeteria is spacious and includes built-in sound buffering. Band and chorus rooms are acoustically designed to support future growth while each grade level is organized into its own wing with identical science labs. A new media center replaces the former library. Furthermore, a welcoming commons area with oversized ceiling fans gives the school a distinctive identity and a renewed sense of community pride.
