Inspired by the natural beauty and musical heritage of the Great Smoky Mountains, Smoky Night Lights at Zoo Knoxville immerses visitors in a dynamic music and light experience set within the heart of the zoo. MBI partnered with Zoo Knoxville to design this unique nighttime attraction carefully integrated into a natural ravine on the site.

The experience features a 1,700-foot Timber Loop that winds around the ravine. It culminates in a 360-degree viewing platform, offering sweeping views of the synchronized lighting and music display from multiple perspectives. Meanwhile, the elevated pathway provides an engaging and accessible journey through the landscape. It also enhances visitor flow and sightlines.

The site was custom designed to seamlessly integrate advanced lighting and audio technology into the natural environment. Invasive plant species were removed and replaced with native vegetation to restore the landscape and enhance sustainability. Energy-efficient lighting systems are used throughout the project, reinforcing Zoo Knoxville’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
